Next Phase Is This
“New Adam, New Eve” is a wild ride that perfectly captures the peak sci-fi weirdness of Space: 1999’s second season. This episode brings a heavy dose of cosmic drama when the Alphans run into a high-and-mighty alien being named Magus, who claims he is the literal creator of humanity. Right out the gate, the setup…
The Devil’s Due is easily one of the coolest episodes of Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 because it finally brings a deep-cut comic villain into the animated universe: the Mad Monk. The plot hits the ground running when a bloody bat symbol is left at a murder scene, framing Batman and kicking off a massive…
Brian the Brain stands out as one of the most memorable yet wildly chaotic episodes from the second season of Space 1999 . The plot kicks off when the crew of Moonbase Alpha crosses paths with a wandering Earth spaceship called the Swift. Instead of a human crew, they are greeted by an eccentric, highly…
This episode stands out as a really fascinating episode from the second season of Space: 1999. The whole vibe kicks off with Moonbase Alpha getting hit by this massive, mysterious energy beam coming from the planet Vega. Suddenly, two of the crew members, Helena and Tony, get straight-up abducted by an android named Zamara. The…
This episode is easily one of the most memorable episodes from the second season of this show. The concept itself is incredibly strong. After months of drifting aimlessly through the cosmos, the crew of Moonbase Alpha suddenly establishes contact with Earth in the year 2120. The revelation that humanity has survived, built Texas City, and…
“The Exiles” is a pretty wild way to kick off the second season of Space: 1999, and honestly, the shift in energy from the first season hits you immediately. Right from the jump, you see the new look of Alpha and the shift in tone, which feels way more action-heavy and fast-paced than before. The…
“The Metamorph” serves as a massive, chaotic soft reboot that completely flips the script for Space: 1999 Season Two. Right from the jump, you can tell the corporate higher-ups wanted to ditch the heavy, philosophical mood of the first season to chase that American Star Trek money. The original, cold Main Mission control room is…
“The Testament of Arkadia” is a really deep and heavy episode to close out the first season, completely shifting the vibe from standard sci-fi action to something way more philosophical. When Moonbase Alpha gets trapped near a dead, desolate planet named Arkadia, the power starts draining fast, forcing the crew into a desperate survival situation….
This episode deals with an incredibly massive, sentient spacecraft named Goth. This ship is basically a flying museum and a supercomputer all rolled into one, controlled by a strange, elderly man named Compan. The concept of a living, thinking machine that carries the entire legacy of a dead civilization is deep, and it immediately hooks…
The story starts when Moonbase Alpha drifts right into the path of a massive, living cosmic entity that basically acts as a central brain holding the universe together. What makes this concept so brilliant is how it flips the usual alien-invasion trope on its head; the Alphans aren’t dealing with a malicious enemy, but an…
