Next Phase Is This
The Séance Spectre takes things to a completely different level. The whole setup hits you fast: Moonbase Alpha is drifting dangerously close to a mysterious, swirling space phenomenon called Tora. Commander John Koenig tries to lock down the information to keep the crew from getting their hopes up about a potential home. But things go…
“The Bringers of Wonder (Part 2)” is honestly one of the wildest and most memorable rides in the entire run of Space: 1999. Picking up right from that tense cliffhanger where Commander John Koenig is the only one seeing these gross, blobby monsters while the rest of the crew thinks they are looking at their…
“The Bringers of Wonder” is very intense. The setup hits you hard right from the jump when Commander John Koenig loses his mind, handles an Eagle spaceship completely wild, and crashes it into a nuclear zone. While he is knocked out cold in the medical bay, a massive “Superswift” ship from Earth pulls up, and…
The Lambda Factor is one of those episodes that really changes the pace. Directed by Charles Crichton and written by the legendary Doctor Who writer Terrance Dicks, this seventeenth episode takes a break from the usual alien-of-the-week formula. Instead, it leans heavily into psychological sci-fi. The whole plot kicks off when Moonbase Alpha passes through…
The whole setup is pure chaos from the jump. A mysterious, sentient space cloud drifts over Moonbase Alpha and unleashes a weird wave of illness that completely knocks out almost the entire crew, including Commander Koenig. This leaves just a handful of personnel, mainly Tony Verdeschi and the resident alien shape-shifter Maya, to defend the…
“A Matter of Balance” is easily one of the most bizarre and chaotic rides in the second season of Space: 1999. The plot focuses on Shermeen, a young botanist on Moonbase Alpha who has a massive crush on Tony Verdeschi. After getting rejected, she gets manipulated by a mysterious, floating antimatter alien named Vindrus. The…
Space Warp is a wild, action-packed episode from the second season of Space: 1999. The story splits the main crew up, which instantly cranks up the stakes. While Commander John Koenig and Tony Verdeschi are away in an Eagle investigating a derelict alien spaceship, a massive cosmic anomaly hits Moonbase Alpha. The runaway moon is…
“Catacombs of the Moon” from Space: 1999 is definitely a wild trip into some classic seventies sci-fi drama. The whole plot kicks off with a mining engineer named Patrick Osgood who is desperately digging in the underground tunnels beneath Moonbase Alpha. He is looking for a super rare mineral called tiranium because his wife, Michelle,…
The season finale of Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, “The Laughing Death,” delivers an absolute masterclass in comic book horror, cemented by a terrifying iteration of The Joker. In this episode, the iconic villain is stripped of any playful gimmicks and presented as 100% evil incarnate. He is a complete madman who thrives purely on…
Honestly, Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, Episode 9, “Dead Before Dawn” completely changes the game. The entire episode is pure chaos and panic, with the streets of Gotham turning into a literal horror movie. The dead are literally turning into straight-up zombie killing machines because of that crazy Joker toxin, and it feels like every…
