Next Phase Is This
So, she’s not Maxima but she is this TV show’s version of Maxima, strong, headstrong and stubborn in all her might and glory. Neila is a warrior female from a distant planet void of really powerful men for women to marry and reproduce with. She’s obsessed with Superboy and wanting him to be her mate…
“Summertime” is a smooth, universally beloved 1991 hip-hop classic that stands as the definitive, ultimate soundtrack to the summer season. Produced by Hula and K. Fingers, the track is built entirely upon a hypnotic, laid-back sample of Kool & The Gang’s 1974 instrumental track “Summer Madness,” featuring a warm, rolling bassline, gentle electric piano chords,…
“Good Vibrations” is a high-octane, genre-blending 1991 hip-hop, Eurodance, and pop anthem that launched Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg) into global pop superstardom. The track’s massive, driving sound relies entirely on a powerhouse house-music piano riff and a thunderous dance beat, famously centered around a soaring, soulful vocal sample from R&B diva Loleatta Holloway. The production…
This show is getting serious by the episode. The first season was mild and the second was like Saved By The Bell. It’s now a serious action/drama, almost worthy of a Smallville adaptation, predating 2001. We see Matt captured by a mega-company trying to get ride of hazardous chemicals illegally and then they captured Matt…
Caleb and his lady love have kissed but not before Caleb’s twisting her arm to be with him. Now they are sorta a thing. I didn’t know number one and the coach were lesbian lovers coming from the same group prior to this starfleet. This was a good episode although I am not jumping out…
“Go Home” is a sleek, ultra-catchy 1985 synth-funk and high-energy R&B track released as a major hit single from Stevie Wonder’s album In Square Circle. The song represents a brilliant fusion of Wonder’s traditional soul sensibilities with the heavily electronic production of the mid-1980s, driven by a syncopated synthesizer bassline, a driving drum machine beat,…
So Superboy lives and lives to fight another day. His boss and partner are on the Bizzaro case and Bizzaro was going to kill Lex Luthor twice but Superboy intervenes and stops him. Lana seems to have been sidelined by the writers. She appears mostly at the end and makes her mark as the original…
“What About Now” is a powerful, slow-building alternative rock and post-grunge ballad released in 2008 by Chris Daughtry’s namesake band, Daughtry. The track opens with a gentle, atmospheric acoustic guitar and soft strings, establishing an intimate, reflective mood before gradually escalating into a towering wall of distorted electric guitars and crashing cymbals. This dramatic, orchestral…
Clark is an intern at a real newspaper. Schuster College must be really sad to see him go. Plus where is Andy McCallister? How come they just wrote him out of the show? He was a great character. Stacy Haiduk is back and with a new hairstyle too, like a Lois Lane kinda vibe. Old…
“Brass in My Pocket” is a sleek, ultra-confident 1979 new wave and pop-rock track that served as the definitive breakout single for British-American band The Pretenders. The song features a brilliant, groove-heavy arrangement driven by a crisp, Motown-influenced rhythm guitar riff, a rolling bassline, and a steady, danceable drum pocket. The production effortlessly bridges the…
